Corequisite: BL202. An examination of the processes which produce the diversity of organisms on our planet. Topics include the biotic and abiotic factors which determine the distribution and abundance of species and evolutionary processes which lead to adaptation, speciation, and extinction. Also examines conservation of the diversity of life by studying the interaction between humans and other organisms. Restricted to majors, interdisciplinary majors, and minors, or students with written permission of the department chair. Required for biology majors. Fulfills the science core requirement for nonscience majors.
