AH323 The Gothic Cathedral   (3.00 cr.)

An introduction to the cathedrals of medieval Europe from 114 c. to 1400. Students examine their complex sculptural and stained glass decorative programs, as well as their building techniques and structural characteristics. Students also explore how Gothic cathedrals have been appropriated in later periods. Counts toward Catholic Studies and Medieval Studies minors.
